So people have had all kinds of issues with the primary election process here in Washoe County.

The ROV mailed ballots to everyone, whether they opted out or not. Mailed multiple ballots with different party affiliations to the same voters. Put the signature on the outside of the envelope so bad actors could steal our identities. Mailed ballots missing candidates from their races on the ballots. Sent out the ballots a week earlier than they were supposed to have been. Had the ballots delivered to them from Arizona with no county representation in the vehicle for proper chain of custody. I could keep going and going but you get it right, even without wondering if our votes actually are counted the way we intended, this is a mess all on its own just with the paper.

Which brings me to the sample ballots.

Sample ballots are important because it helps voters prepare for Election Day. By reviewing a sample ballot, voters can learn about the candidates and issues in advance, plan their choices, and ensure they make informed decisions. It also helps prevent confusion and speeds up the voting process because voters already know what to expect when they get to the polling place.

The sample ballots, as per NRS 293.565(6), says in part that the sample ballots must be received “before the period for early voting for any election begins”.

Well, this is a problem, many sample ballots, if not all, were received AFTER early voting had already started!

Second, many people have complained to me and sent me proof, their sample ballots are missing numerous candidates and races from their sample ballots.

So it’s like a sample of what their ballot is supposed to show…

One specific case, is Drew Ribar.

He is running for Assembly, well guess what? The sample ballot he received, after early voting started, didn’t even have him on the ballot! He is registered to vote at his address, he filed for office at his address, yet the sample ballot that came to the same address, he’s not on it!

Folks, this is just one example of dozens that have been sent to me. These are huge issues, could you imagine running a business like this? You’d be out of business.

They keep giving us new ROVs who are doing “their best” and then blame you and me for calling out their incompetence as harassment and then their reason for leaving.

It’s ridiculous, imagine going to a restaurant and them always getting your order wrong, but it’s the only restaurant, and the only place you can ever eat at, what do you do? You complain, you offer to do it for them, but somehow the restaurant just blames you for not sucking down the crap they put in front of you.

Folks, these are our votes, our most precious voices to peacefully effect change in our community, when is enough enough for you?

How long do we allow them to continue to commit malfeasance, nonfeasance, or malpractice simply because you’re scared to be called names or too lazy to speak out?

Enough excuses, get involved, peacefully call this crap out, while you still can.
